This strikes me as a homecoming of sorts. I could see a chair crashing out of this scene. Maybe Spain and MA are more equally "home" now? Whatever it is I feel like the perspective on this one is somehow closer and less removed than the excavations. It seems like we are more present as viewers (and maybe as the artist as well?). There is also more light here. It works.
